Typhoon Higos has made landfall at the coast of Zhuhai at 6am. In the last hour, a maximum gust of over 200 km/hr has been recorded in Macao, and wind speed is expected to maintain in the next hour. There are frequent heavy showers and thunderstorms. The public are advised to pay special attention to safety.
At the same time, Red Storm Surge Warning is in effect. Severe flooding has occurred in low-lying areas. Flooding level of over 0.8 meter has been recorded in Inner Harbour area, and water level is continuously increasing. It is forecasted that there will be severe flooding in low-lying areas between 5am and 12pm, and the highest flooding level is expected to be between 1.5 and 2.5 meters.
