The School of Business of Macao Polytechnic Institute (MPI) and Sands China Limited (SCL) held a sharing session on e-commerce cooperation in the integrated resort industry. The guests from SCL included Mr. Paulo Cheong, Vice President of Human Resources, Mr. Allan Chung, Executive Director of Digital Marketing and e-Commerce, Ms. Candy Ng, Associate Director of Human Resources, and Ms. Sonia Da Conceicao, Manager of Human Resources, amongst others. The MPI representatives were Dr. Samuel Huang, Director of School of Business of MPI, Dr. Linda Lai, Programme Coordinator of Bachelor of E-Commerce, Ms. Christy Cheong, Acting Head of Academic Affairs Department, and Ms. Alice Lao, Head of Student Affairs Office. Two SCL business analysts Mr. Casper Wong and Mr. Gabriel Ho, who were alumni of the E-Commerce Programme of MPI, shared their experience on their journey from school to the workplace. More than 80 people attended the sharing session, including students and teachers from the Bachelor of Business Administration Programme.

Executive Director Chung introduced the applications and new development of business analytics and e-commerce at SCL and encouraged the students to address the challenges of the digital economy with creativity and innovative mind-sets. Director Huang and Dr. Lai thanked SCL for providing job opportunities to MPI students. They emphasized that academic-industry collaboration is critical for the programme's development.

The students participated enthusiastically during the sharing session and had in-depth exchanges with the speakers. The discussion items ranged from e-commerce applications, digital sales and marketing, to the nature of business analyst jobs, as well as the impacts of the Hainan free-trade port in Macao. The event enabled the students to understand the strong demand for e-commerce talents in the leisure industry and boosted their confidence in the related studies.
