The University of Macau (UM) String Orchestra and Symphonic Band recently participated in the 38^thMacao Young Musicians Competition and won numerous awards, including two first prizes, two second prizes, five distinction awards, and one merit award. Established in 2010 and 2007 respectively, the String Orchestra and the Symphonic Band now have about 70 members and both are committed to enriching campus life by bringing a variety of musical performances to UM students.
