The new Hengqin Port in Zhuhai will open to the public from 3pm on 18 August, completing the relocation of the Lotus Flower Bridge Checkpoint to the area under Macao jurisdiction within the Hengqin Port.

Inbound and outbound passenger clearance services, and Macao-bound vehicle clearance services, will be relocated to the new Hengqin Port. Clearance services for vehicles bound for the mainland from Macao will continue to take place at the existing facilities for that purpose on Hengqin.

Members of the public – including drivers – wishing to travel between Macao and Hengqin using the Lotus Flower Bridge are advised to pay close attention to the new clearance arrangements following the opening to the public of the new Hengqin Port.

The Macao area within the new Hengqin Port is located on the opposite shore from the existing Lotus Flower Bridge Checkpoint.

The State Council approved on 2 March 2020 that a designated area within the Hengqin Port and certain other adjacent areas would be under Macao jurisdiction from 18 March.
