Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) announced online today (6 August) the results of the Photo Contest, Student Drawing Contest, Video Production Contest and Poster Design Contest of the 30th Macao International Fireworks Display Contest. Among the 371 entries of these four outreach programs, 88 were chosen by the judges to win the accolades including the first, second, third, merit and consolation prizes.

To enhance residents’ enthusiasm for the Fireworks Display Contest and unlock their artistic creativity, MGTO held a variety of outreach programs for different age groups. Besides the Photo Contest and Student Drawing Contest both held for many years, the Video Production Contest and Poster Design Contest were also newly added last year.

Organized by MGTO, the Macao International Fireworks Display Contest is one of Macao’s spectacular annual events not to miss. Outstanding fireworks teams came from different parts of the world to present an array of top-quality fireworks displays which attracted a great number of visiting and local spectators. Owing to the sweeping global pandemic of coronavirus pneumonia this year, after careful assessment and thorough consideration, MGTO came to the decision in early May to cancel the 31st Macao International Fireworks Display Contest and other outreach programs this year, including the Student Drawing Contest, Photo Contest, Fireworks Carnival and so forth.
