People wishing to visit Macao casinos will be required to provide a nucleic acid test certificate proving freedom from COVID-19 infection, in addition to the existing requirements of undergoing a body-temperature check, and presenting a valid ‘green’ Macao Health Code result.

People entering integrated resorts, hotels and guest houses in Macao will be required to have a body-temperature check, and must present a valid Macao Health Code result. They will not need a nucleic acid test certificate.

The measures will take effect after the stroke of midnight on Wednesday (15 July), and are to protect the health of casino employees and patrons.

The steps have been announced concurrently with relaxations of quarantine arrangements – from 6am on Wednesday (15 July) – for people wishing to enter the mainland via Macao’s boundary with Zhuhai in Guangdong Province.

Additionally, the Government has requested all casino operators to maintain good air quality in their premises, ensuring in particular that fresh air can circulate.

The Government intends to ensure casino employees are each able to take a nucleic acid test, in order to guarantee their health and safety. Front-line workers, such as card dealers and security personnel, would be given priority for the tests.
