Consumer Council received 41 complaint cases during CNY Holiday

The Consumer Council provided hotline service to consumers during 4 to 10 February, a total of 56 inquiry and complaint cases were received during the one-week CNY holiday. Among the 41 complaint cases, 17 cases were lodged by citizens regarding outbound travel and prices of products, etc., 24 cases were lodged by tourists. The Council has offered assistance to consumers and follow up has been made, certain cases had been referred to other departments.

About 30 percent of all complaints involved tourists complaining about taxi service, including taxi fares not charged by meter and overcharging, 6 cases were lodged on the quality of clothing and apparel, there were also 6 cases on the service attitude of food and beverage outlets, and most complainants were tourists.
