Given that some Macao residents have to confirm the information in regard to the relationship with their parents, children or spouse (hereinafter called persons concerned) in their Macao SAR Resident Identity Card record prior to going through certain formalities (such as application for the Certificate of Kinship, transfer of healthcare voucher or providing the proof of life), the Identification Services Bureau (DSI) launched self-service kinship verification in 2018 for citizens to provide the information of persons concerned. In order to further facilitate formalities and expand the scope of online services, DSI extended the service to online platform and introduced the online kinship verification service today (23 March 2021), so that citizens can go through the formalities without leaving home.

Macao SAR Resident Identity Card holders who are aged 18 or above can lodge the application by logging in to their “Common Access to Public Services of the Macao SAR” account through the mobile application. Applicants just need to input the Macao SAR Resident Identity Card number of the persons concerned when lodging the application. After successful application, applicants will receive the verification result within five working days. DSI will notify applicants of submitting additional documents if needed. The information of the verified relationship will be archived into the Macao SAR Resident Identity Card record of applicants and persons concerned.　This service will help parents (or guardian) open the “Common Access to Public Services of the Macao SAR” account online for their underage children after identity verification (facial recognition). Moreover, the “Common Access to Public Services of the Macao SAR” platform will introduce more services which are closely related to citizens’ daily life and beneficial to citizens of different age group.
