DSI calls on citizens to make timely update on residential address

To be in line with the Macao SAR Government’s community-specific, multi-level targeted approach to epidemic prevention and control of Novel Coronavirus, Macao residents are required to provide the information about the usual place of residence in Macao on the health code. The information is intended to be used for the timely identification of individuals in the infected areas in the event of a state of epidemic declared in Macao.

Besides registering the residual address directly on the health code, citizens can also give consent to the Health Bureau to retrieve personal information from the Identification Services Bureau (DSI) if the registered address belongs to the affected areas in the event of a state of epidemic declared in Macao. Therefore, DSI calls on citizens in need to make timely update on the residential address registered with DSI.

Holders of electronic Macao SAR Resident Identity Card who are aged 18 or above can update the contact information for themselves or on behalf of their underage children or persons under their guardianship at 77 integrated self-service kiosks distributed in 48 locations in Macao. Applicants can access and modify the current residential address and telephone number after successful identity verification with the electronic identity card and fingerprint. To modify the contact information on behalf of their underage children or persons under their guardianship, only the electronic identity card of persons concerned is needed, while the persons concerned do not have to be present.

Moreover, citizens can lodge the application at DSI located at the China Plaza in “Avenida de Praia Grande”, or at DSI’s service counters at the Government Services Centre in Areia Preta or the Government Services Centre in Islands. The application form for address information update can be submitted by the applicant himself or on behalf of the applicant.

After successful application, the contact information of the applicant will be updated within three working days.
