WTT Macao 2020, organized by the Sports Bureau of the Macao SAR Government and World Table Tennis (WTT), co-organized by Macau Table Tennis General Association, and presented by Galaxy Entertainment Group, will be held at the Tap Seac Multisport Pavilion from 25th to 29th November. The tournament brings together the world’s best table tennis players who will face a series of fierce battles, a rare and unmissable opportunity for table tennis fans.

The world’s best table tennis players are competing in Macao

The latest list of players has been released. In the men’s single are: Fan Zhendong, the first winner of three consecutive ITTF Men's World Cups and the current world number one; Xu Xin and Ma Long, the world number two and number three players respectively; their national teammates Lin Gaoyuan, Liang Jingkun and Wang Chuqin; Hugo Calderano and Gustavo Tsuboi from Brazil; Lin Yun-Ju from Chinese Taipei; Jeoung Youngsik and Jeon Jihee from South Korea.

Top of the list of women’s singles players is Chen Meng, the Dishang 2020 ITTF Women’s World Cup champion who currently holds the top spot in the world rankings. Her main competitors are: national teammates Sun Yingsha, Liu Shiwen, Wang Manyu, Ding Ning, Wang Yidi and Chen Xingtong; Cheng I-Ching from Chinese Taipei; Feng Tianwei from Singapore; and Doo Hoi Kem from Hong Kong.

Players and staff are required to strictly follow anti-pandemic measures

The players and staff who are coming to Macao for the event have been in China since October and have already undergone a 14-day quarantine. They have since been taking part in the Dishang 2020 ITTF Men’s and Women’s World Cup in Weihai, Shandong and the 2020 ITTF Finals in Zhengzhou, Henan between the 8th and 22nd of November. The players and staff will have had stayed in Mainland China for over 14 days before entering Macao, and they must show a valid negative nucleic acid test result before being granted permission to enter Macao. During the competition period, they must also comply with the anti-pandemic guidelines and regulations set by the Macao health authorities.

New scoring methods bring exciting competition

WTT Macao 2020 is the first event to be held by WTT since its inception by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) this year. Men's and women's singles will be held, featuring many of the world’s top 16 players. Innovative formats with new scoring methods will be adopted in different stages, including the unprecedented best-of-nine format in the final, bringing a fast-paced and thoroughly exciting competition for spectators.

Tickets are now available

According to the match schedule, the knockout tournament and competitions between top 4 seed players will be staged on the first two days (25 and 26 Nov), the quarterfinals and semifinals will be held on 27th and 28th Nov respectively, and the finals will take place on 29th Nov. Tickets are now available until 24th Nov, at 10 designated OK convenience stores in Macao (Nam Ngai Kok Building in Areia Preta; Sun Star Plaza in Border Gate; China Civil Plaza; Iat Teng Hou Business Center in Nam Van; Ponte 16; Riviera Gardens; Van Sion Son Chun; Estrada do Cemitério; Prince Flower City; Kings Ville) or at the official ticketing website www.sport.gov.mo/WTTmacao2020/ticketing. Alternatively, between 25th and 29th Nov, tickets can be bought on-site at the Tap Seac Multisport Pavilion. Tickets are valid only on the designated date with free-seating. Macao residents, students and seniors aged 65 years or above are entitled to discounts to purchase at in-store and on-site ticketing counters. Ticket prices are as follows:
