The “Macao Franchise Expo 2020” (2020MFE) will be held at The Venetian Macao from 22 to 24 October. This year marks the 12th anniversary of the MFE, and the exhibition continues to feature “Brand Expansion Continues, Business Opportunities to Be Seized” as its theme. Learning from past experience and envisioning future development trends, this year’s MFE will be enriched with online elements by holding online training sessions and exhibitions, in conjunction with physical exhibitions to further support exhibitors in brand transformation and upgrading, as well as brand image promotion.

Three UFI accredited exhibitions held concurrently for the first time in Macao

The MFE was accredited by the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI) in November 2018, becoming the first franchise exhibition in Greater China to receive this honour. The “25th Macao International Trade and Investment Fair” (25th MIF) and the “2020 Portuguese Speaking Countries Products and Services Exhibition (Macao)” (2020PLPEX), which are also UFI accredited exhibitions, will be held concurrently with the MFE this year. It is believed that the three exhibitions can create synergy and amplify influence.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, and in line with the development trend of the industry in the digital era, this year’s MFE will further integrate online and offline elements. A series of online training sessions and workshops have been held before the event, with renowned lecturers conducting online tutorials on different topics such as brand upgrading, to share with SMEs some of the tips and tricks of running a business.

Offering online exhibitions and matching sessions to help enterprises in cross-regional networking

During the MFE, online exhibitions and matching services will be developed, and the “Online Business Matching Service Platform” ( https://bm.ipim.gov.mo/ ) will help enterprises approach preferable companies for future co-operation across regions in a more convenient way. Meanwhile, the physical exhibition venue will set up the Gourmet Avenue, Franchise Zone, Branding Pavilion, New Retail and Equipment Zone, One-stop Support Centre for Enterprises, Macao Original I.P. Pavilion, and other exhibition areas. Face-to-face consultation with corporate image consultants, legal experts and other professionals will also be available.

Having received unceasing support from the Macao International Brand Enterprise Commercial Association, the Macau Chain Stores and Franchise Association, the Licensing & Franchising Association of Hong Kong, and the franchise industry, the MFE has developed itself into an ideal exchange and co-operation platform for international franchise businesses. Participants at previous editions of MFE included practitioners of various industries, such as catering, service, retail, brand agency, education, e-commerce and fashion, with many of them being internationally renowned chain brands.
