The 25th Macao International Trade & Investment Fair (25th MIF), Macao Franchise Expo 2020 (2020MFE), and 2020 Portuguese-Speaking Countries Products and Services Exhibition (Macao) (2020PLPEX) will be held concurrently at The Venetian Macao from 22 to 24 October 2020. The business matching services offered by these exhibitions have been helping exhibitors and participants expand their online businesses and explore opportunities.

Following its participation in the 24th MIF last year, Choochoo Culture Creative Ltd. landed a co-operation agreement to promote its products in Shanghai, hoping to raise its brand awareness in the Mainland market.

Last year at MIF, representative of Sam Wo Food Factory participated in the “Macao Industry Modernisation Matching Session” organised by IPIM, and successfully enhanced its competitiveness by acquiring the international food safety certificate, which also allowed the company to have smoother collaboration with Macao’s large resort enterprises.

The head of Showcase Technology (Hong Kong) Company Limited said that many excellent brands, products and designers have emerged in Macao in recent years. Through the business matching during the 2019MFE, three Macao souvenir companies joined its e-commerce platform, allowing merchants from all over the world to purchase Macao’s specialty products on the online platform. He said that MIF, MFE and PLPEX taking place at the same time are expected to facilitate the cross-border movement of goods despite COVID-19 pandemic.

During 2019PLPEX, Aucoin Carnes e Alimentos Limitada signed sales agreements with Portuguese enterprises to introduce Portuguese meat products to the Macao market, and the products were well received by consumers. Due to the pandemic this year, the company has extended its businesses to medical supplies and personal disease prevention products. Mr. Wa, head of the company, hopes to take advantage of the exhibition platform to sell epidemic prevention products to Portuguese-Speaking Countries and jointly promote the development of local brands in Macao.

This year’s three exhibitions will continue to provide professional networking and matching services. Merchants can register on the Online Business Matching Service Platform ( https://bm.ipim.gov.mo/ ) to pre-arrange meetings in advance.  For the first time, the online matching service (cloud matching service) will be provided for merchants who are not able to attend the exhibitions in person.
